Application Deadline- 4th May, 2018 (12:00 pm)
Within an atmosphere of growing populism, the European idea seems to be challenged as never before. The Nobel Peace Price for the European Union in 2012 has been followed up by harsh anti-European voices in media and politics. Are we witnessing the return of nationalism and authoritarianism to EU member states and beyond?
In this long-lasting crisis, the call for a new narrative is getting louder and louder. But is a new, positive narrative really the solution of the current problems? We think it’s time to reframe the European story. Do we need completely other formats and ideas to tell the EU’s Story in a different way?
To find answers to these questions we are inviting young creative talents between 18 and 35 years from all professions to a creative Young Professionals Seminar on:
“HOW TO TELL THE EU’s STORY”
Date: 8th to 9th June, 2018 (arrival 7th, departure 10th June)
Venue: German-French Cultural Centre (CCFA) in Nice, France
The intention for this workshop is to find out which views the participants have on Europe and which creative ideas they can develop on new formats to tell the EU’s story. At the end of the day the participants shall also be able to develop better, more intensive access to their own creativity and use it in their professional life as well.
As a prework, applicants are asked to tell their own “personal EU story” in a short draft: How they have themselves benefited from free movement or education opportunities? How do they see Europe from their personal point of view? What formats would they suggest to tell the European narrative in a better way? Suggestions for improvements in politics. Or simply never or too rarely told stories.
